Visiting the Canton Fair for Motorcycle Helmets? Bring an Evidence Checklist
Meeting helmet or visor suppliers at the 140th Canton Fair? Use this checklist to turn a promising sample into a verifiable sourcing decision.

The 140th Canton Fair opened in Guangzhou on October 15, 2026. Its three phases run through November 4. Phase 1 (October 15–19) includes motorcycles and vehicle spare parts. See the official Canton Fair schedule: https://www.cantonfair.org.cn/en-US/content-detail?id=727090749086445568EN
For a motorcycle-helmet or visor buyer, a meeting at the fair is useful—but it is the start of supplier screening, not proof that a factory can deliver the same product in volume.
Before the meeting: define the decision
Are you choosing a supplier to send a sample, approving a specific sample for further testing, or preparing to place an order? These are different decisions. Bring the target market, intended helmet or visor type, expected order range, branding requirements, and any model-specific documentation you need to review.
What to ask while the product is on the table
- Which exact model is this? Record the model code and configuration shown, including shell, visor, retention system, sizes, and packaging options. Do not treat a similar-looking model as identical.
- What evidence covers that model and target market? Ask for the relevant test or certification documents, issuer, validity, and model scope. A logo or a document for another model is not enough.
- Who makes and controls the production version? Clarify the legal seller, manufacturing site, any subcontracted step, and how the approved sample will be matched to the production order.
- What is still unconfirmed? Put MOQ, tooling or logo costs, lead time, sample terms, and the quotation’s delivery term in writing. These vary by model and order; none should be inferred from a booth conversation.
After the meeting: continue, pause, or escalate
Continue to a documented sample request when the model, seller, next evidence, and target-market requirements are clear. Pause when a key specification or document is missing. Escalate to deeper supplier or factory checks if the legal entity, production site, or certification scope cannot be reconciled.
I run Taotao Trading from Zhaoqing, Guangdong. My earlier corporate-banking work informs how I review observable operating evidence and transaction risks; it does not give me access to any supplier’s private banking records. For helmet and visor sourcing, the useful output of a meeting is a precise evidence request and a clear next decision—not a confident-sounding promise.
